Seungmin is a partner of SEUM and focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation and advisory services related to blockchain, cryptocurrency, finance, securities, corporate and other matters.
After completing Judicial Research and Training Institute, the Supreme Court of Korea in 2010, Seungmin worked at Sigong Law P.C., providing advisory services and litigation support in finance and M&A. In 2012, he transitioned to the Financial Supervisory Service to work at the Enforcement Review Office, Insurance Team, Micro-credit Team and IT and Financial Information Protection Department (Privacy TF) on various financial company-related matters, such as banking, securities, insurance and retail finance.
Appointed as a prosecutor since 2014, Seungmin worked at Busan District Public Prosecutor's Office, Suncheon Office of Gwangju District Public Prosecutor’s Office, Finance and Tax Crime Division of Incheon District Public Prosecutor's Office and Center of Financial Crime Investigation of Seoul Southern District Public Prosecutor’s Office for 9 years in total, managing a diverse range of criminal cases, such as capital market unfair trade activities (i.e., market manipulation, use of undisclosed information and fraudulent and unfair transactions), business embezzlement and breach of trust. In particular, Seungmin was actively involved in blockchain and cryptocurrency-related investigations, such as the Terra (Luna) case.
Seungmin is leading blockchain/Cryptocurrency Team at SEUM and providing accurate solutions based on extensive experience and deep understanding of finance and securities, corporate law and cryptocurrency-related matters.
